Class Descriptions

Boot Camp:
  A challenging, high-intensity cardio workout designed to increase your strength and endurance while buring lots of calories.   After several repetitions of upper body exercises using handweights and bursts of cardio pumping activities, including agility drills, you'll be ready to finish up with a well-deserved cool-down stretch.

Butts & Guts:  This ONE-HOUR class works on your core and specifically focuses on two areas -- your abdominal muscles and your gluteus muscles. 

Cardio Sculpt:  Burn calories and tone your muscles in this interval training cardio and muscle conditioning class.

Next Step:  The perfect step class for those who know basic step terminology and are ready for simple choreography.

Pilates:  A method of exercise emphasizing core stability, focusing on improving functional movement while conditioning abs, lower back, hips and thighs.  Develop a leaner, stronger, more flexible body with better balance in this non-impact mat class.

Sculpt & Tone:  Strengthen and tone your body using a variety of hand weights and resistance materials.  This one-hour class targets your biceps, triceps, deltoids, pectorals, rhomboids & lats, trapezius, quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus maximus, calves, external and internal obliques, and rectus abdominis.

Step 1-2-3:  A step class for ALL levels that offers options for the beginner, intermediate and advanced participant.

Yoga:  Release stress and increase flexibility and strength in this invigorating class that incorporate yoga poses and sequences for most levels.

Zumba:  This popular class is a fusion of Latin and international music using dance themes to creat a dynamic and effective fitness system.  Zumba combines high energy with motivating music and is based on the principle that a workout should be "fun and easy to do."  You can learn more about Zumba at http://www.zumba.com/.

ZumbaTomic:  Zumba for kids!  $35 fee for a 5 week, 45 minute class that starts June 24th. 

Fitness Challenge Details:  There are 4 categories: Weight Loss, Inches Lost, # of Steps (pedometer) and
# of Classes taken.  $20 fee for each category, $15 of the fee goes into the winner's pot.

Due to staff vacation and a Zumba Education Conference some August classes will not be held.
